IT Support for Small Businesses
A business with five or fifty people has the same IT needs as a larger one and nobody whose job it is. That is the gap we fill.
What a small office usually needs
- Someone to call when a computer, the Wi-Fi or email stops
- New staff set up with a computer, accounts and access, and departing employees removed
- A network that is documented and secured
- Backups that are checked
- Advice before money is spent on hardware or software
- One person who deals with the internet provider and the software vendors
How we start
With a visit. We look at the computers, the network, the accounts and the backups, and write down what you have. You get a short list of what is fine, what is a risk and what we would fix first. There is no obligation to go further.
By the visit or on a plan
Ad-hoc visits suit an office where little goes wrong. A support plan suits one where downtime costs money: we monitor, maintain and visit regularly. See managed IT services.
What we look after
- Networks and Wi-Fi
- Computers, printers and software
- Cloud services on Azure and AWS
- Backup and disaster recovery
- Security
- Recovery when something has already failed
Questions
We are too small for a managed service provider. Are we?
No. An MSP makes most sense for an office too small to employ its own IT person.
Do we have to sign a contract?
Not for ad-hoc visits. Plans run month to month.
Can you take over from our current IT person?
Yes. We document what is in place so nothing depends on one person remembering it.
Do you work outside office hours?
By arrangement, for work that would otherwise interrupt your staff.
Book a visit or a pickup
Call us or book online and tell us the make, the model and what is going wrong. For IT support a technician comes to your home or office. For a repair we pick the computer up from your door, fix it at our own workshop in Burbank and bring it back. We have no storefront, so there is nowhere to drop a machine off. Outside our area, you can mail it to us.
