Dell PowerEdge Data Recovery
A PowerEdge tower in a back room runs a great many small businesses. When its array fails, we recover the data and help get the office working again.
Dell PowerEdge models we recover
- Tower: T30, T40, T140, T150, T340, T350, T440, T550
- Rack: R240, R250, R340, R350, R440, R450, R540, R640, R650, R740, R750
- RAID controllers: PERC H330, H730, H730P, H740P, H345, H745, S150
How these fail
- “Foreign configuration” prompts. After a controller or drive change, the PERC may ask to import or clear the configuration. Clearing it removes the array definition.
- Two drives failed in RAID 5. Often one failed long ago, unnoticed. Do not force drives back online.
- Virtual disk offline. Photograph the screen and stop.
Before you send it
- Switch the device off and leave it off.
- Do not format, initialize or run repair tools.
- For a NAS, RAID or server, send every drive, numbered by bay or slot.
- Tell us which files or folders matter most.
Questions
The server is asking me to import or clear a foreign configuration. Which one?
Neither, until someone has checked which drives are current. The wrong choice can destroy the array.
Can you work on site?
Yes. A technician can assess the server at your office. See server data recovery.
Book a visit or a pickup
Call us or book online and tell us the make, the model and what is going wrong. For IT support a technician comes to your home or office. For a repair we pick the computer up from your door, fix it at our own workshop in Burbank and bring it back. We have no storefront, so there is nowhere to drop a machine off. Outside our area, you can mail it to us.
