Intel and Solidigm Data Recovery
Intel’s SSD business now trades as Solidigm, but a great many Intel-branded drives are still in service in business laptops and servers.
Intel and Solidigm models we recover
- SATA: 320, 330, 520, 530, 535, 540s, 545s
- NVMe: 600p, 660p, 665p, 670p, 760p; Solidigm P41 Plus, P44 Pro
- Data center: DC S3500, S3510, S3610, S4500, S4510, P4510
How these fail
- The 8MB fault. An Intel 320 that suddenly reports a capacity of 8MB has a known firmware fault. Do not secure-erase it: that is the suggested “fix”, and it destroys the data.
- Read-only mode. Intel drives lock themselves when they reach the end of their rated life. The data can be copied off.
- Server drives. These usually belong to a RAID. See RAID recovery.
Before you send it
- Switch the device off and leave it off.
- Do not format, initialize or run repair tools.
- For a NAS, RAID or server, send every drive, numbered by bay or slot.
- Tell us which files or folders matter most.
Questions
My Intel SSD shows 8MB. Is the data lost?
Not necessarily. Stop using it and do not run the manufacturer’s erase tool.
Do you recover drives from servers?
Yes. See server data recovery.
