Kingston Data Recovery
Kingston’s A400 is among the cheapest and most common SSDs, and its DataTraveler sticks are everywhere.
Kingston models we recover
- SATA SSDs: A400 (SA400S37), KC600 (SKC600), UV500, older V300 and HyperX
- NVMe SSDs: NV1, NV2 (SNV2S), KC2500, KC3000 (SKC3000S), FURY Renegade
- USB drives: DataTraveler 100 G3 (DT100G3), Exodia (DTX), DTSE9, DataTraveler Max
- Memory cards: Canvas Select Plus, Canvas Go! Plus, Canvas React Plus
How these fail
- “SATAFIRM S11”. An A400 that shows up under this name with the wrong size has a failed controller. The data may still be recoverable.
- Not detected. Budget SSDs often fail outright, with no warning period.
- USB sticks. Bent connectors and failed controllers are the usual faults.
Before you send it
- Switch the device off and leave it off.
- Do not format, initialize or run repair tools.
- For a NAS, RAID or server, send every drive, numbered by bay or slot.
- Tell us which files or folders matter most.
Questions
My Kingston SSD shows as SATAFIRM S11. What happened?

Is recovery from a cheap SSD worth it?
That depends on what is on it. We tell you the price before any work.
